THE TERRITORY

Our agriturismo is located in the heart of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano en Valdobbiadene in the Province of Treviso in the Veneto region in north-eastern Italy.  In 2019 the Prosecco Hills were added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site thanks to the unique cultural landscape. The traditional Prosecco territory extends over a chain of ridges and hills between the cities of Vittorio Veneto, Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, and is famous for its Prosecco DOCG or Prosecco Superiore.

The core zone landscape is highly parcelled and composed by many steep vineyards, small villages and winegrowers amidst woods and meadows. It is hence defined as “mosaic”.

The Prosecco vineyards are characterised by "ciglioni", a particular type of terracing on the steep hills which uses grassed earth instead of stone. A third typical feature of the hills are the “hogbacks” which consist of a series of bristly and steep elevations elongated in an east-west direction and interspersed with small valleys parallel to each other. Following the ridges and narrow valleys, you'll find small scattered villagges, hamlets and houses spreaded all over the hills. Read more on the web siteof collineconeglianovaldobbiadene.it
